People aren’t used to ‘different’… so we expect that you might have a few questions

How do I get in if there’s no one at the desk and the door is locked? I don’t understand, can you explain everything please?

Of COURSE we can :) All of our reservations are made in advance - via our website, through a text, or sometimes with a phone call. After the reservation is confirmed and paid in full, you will receive an email with a door code (generally a few days prior to your stay). That code is specific to YOU and will get you onto the property and in to your room.

ALL rooms are on the 2nd floor and we do not have an elevator. Old building, but newly renovated. There are roughly 12 stairs from the lobby to the top of the stairs - and they’re not overly steep.

Also, there are no TV’s in the guest rooms. WHAT? What is a person supposed to do without a TV to entertain them??!! We can think of all kinds of things … and imagine that you can too ;) Time to get creative, friends! We do have pretty dang good WiFi though so bring your tablet, phone, or computer if you need digital entertainment :)

There is a community Keurig at the top of the stairs with an assortment of coffee pods &creamers in the community fridge space (we in fact have TWO, yes 2, refrigerators for guests to share. 1 at the top of the stairs near the Keurig and one in the Sweat Shop by the window. Mark your things with a sharpie and don’t steal your neighbors food. Rude! ) There is also a community microwave available in the Sweat Shop. Let us know if you need to use the washer and dryer - we can generally make that available as well.

When was the original Central Hotel opened?

The Historic Central Hotel was originally finished & opened in 1929. The Ebar family had the Hotel built but the Urizar family ran the hotel for the first 10 years. Cecilia Urizar was quite a woman from the stories we’ve heard. (Think Bootlegger, ‘revenuers’, and fiesty Bascos!!)

In the original design, all hotel rooms were on the second level. All rooms shared access to 2 bath TUBS and 2 toilets. (Can you imagine being the last person to use those bathtubs in the evening?!?) The family running the hotel had living quarters on the lower level (in the space we call ‘The Living Room’…. ah ha! Makes sense now, doesn’t it!)

We purchased the hotel in 2016 and have put our heart and soul into bringing it back to life. There are 12 guest rooms in all … 7 of them now have a private bathroom in the room and 5 of them have sinks in the room with access to a private shower/toilet right next door.

We love this place and we hope that you will too.

Can we pleasssse meet the minds behind the renovation?!

We hope we get the chance to meet you! We want to know where you're headed and where you came from. If you'd rather keep to yourself, no problem. Please don’t hesitate to reach out - and if we are available we would love to make some plans! :)

Is there a curfew?

As much as we don’t want to parent you … We ask that you respect the CH as you would your own home (that is, if you actually take CARE of your own home! ha!) Please be respectful to other guests and abide by a 10:00 pm quiet time. Keep in mind - this is still an old building and if you’re in the hallway chatting … it could definitely be keeping the other guests awake. Grab your coffees then head elsewhere to visit :) The Living Room and the Patio out back are great places to do just that :)

Do you allow my furry best friend?

Short answer - NO. We love your furry little friends - and they are welcome on our patio, but not inside the hotel or guest rooms. Thank you for your understanding! :) You are the best!!
