…when in Burns - where to eat & shop! ….
The hotel sits on the South end of our downtown main street (Broadway Avenue). There are multiple restaurants within walking distance along with a grocery store only a couple of blocks away (with a Starbucks - finally!)
Bella Java offers coffee with light breakfast options and yummy lunch specials; El Toreo offers Mexican fare; The Central Pastime delivers a great burger in a locals bar atmosphere; Linda’s Thai Room - authentic and delicious; Fran’s Broadway Deli (amazing baked goods!); The Hilander Chinese restaurant right downstairs. Rhojos is located just off the main drag on the side street ‘Washington’ … fresh ingredients and amazing flavor! More options to choose from than you might have imagined! Take it to go and come back to the outdoor patio and fire pits or the guest ‘Living Room’ and eat in!
A short drive will take you to Big Bear Lodge - on the far end of Hines. (<<<BRAG ALERT>>> Jen’s mom and dad built Big Bear with their very own hands!!) Big Bear recently re-opened and offers lunch and dinner. (Prefer to get a ride there? Text us …we might have a plan!) Boomers Place just opened in Hines near the park. The Pine Room is a short walk or drive away. Juniper Cookhouse is open seasonally - fresh & SO good! Thinking pizza? Figaros & Glory Days Pizza will both deliver! AND NOW … The Harney Taco is open on our back patio … times and dates vary - hopefully you’ll get lucky! 1188 Brewing Co. is coming soon to the back patio as well …! You’ll see that there is construction going on and this is why … ‘Storage Container becomes Taphouse’ will be their new and 2nd location :) Yippee!!!!
Go see our neighbors! We have some great little shops and boutiques along the main street strip. Make sure you stop in at Robin's Closet (next to Family Eyecare) - an AMAZING and unique boutique! FarmShoppe - a small pop up business run by Regina and her adorable ‘greeter’ has recently relocated and moved in with Robin at Robin’s Closet - Fun, unique, and often hand made gifts with something for everyone. While there, grab a bag of locally roasted coffee by Elevation 4148, aptly named for the elevation of Burns. Go see Jan at Gourmet & Gadgets. Check out The Barn and their great selection of cute locally made signs, Pendleton blankets, toys galore, and cute clothes! Further up main street you'll find Ribbons & Roses and The Book Parlor.
Looking for an adventure? Aldens School of Leather Trade is a new and AMAZING school where you can take week long classes learning different leather skills. Stay with us while you take a class with him and receive 10% off your stay! Crystal Crane Hot Springs is another unique and sought-after destination only a 20 minute drive from the hotel. The water is fantastic!
If you want to make a loop, may we suggest you venture to Hotel Diamond? Great owners and meals. The Frenchglen Hotel is another quaint place about an hour away. If you’ve heard about the Steens Mountains you should check them out! Now … this is a ways away but you’ve GOT to add the Jennings Hotel to your list. Maybe not on this stay but sometime soon. This is one of our personal FAVES! Tell them Jen & Forrest said hi!!
